Planning consent for redevelopment of 7-11 Robert Adam Street, London W1

Christian Garnett Partners LLP, working in conjunction with Cluttons, have obtained planning permission for a 1,750sqm. mixed office/residential development near Manchester Square, on behalf of The Portman Estate.

The scheme comprises an entire urban block of primarily residential accommodation. The site is Listed Grade II and the project will involve refurbishment and extension of five town houses and adjoining mews cottages to create 17no. new units. The proposal includes partial re-building and re-instatement of Baker's Mews which was lost after the second world war.

The scheme was warmly received and was approved unanimously by members, despite some concerns about loss of HMOs on the site. The practice has been instructed to prepare contract documentation, and the £2.5million scheme is expected to be completed in early 2006.
