November 2004 Practice wins Camden Design Award 04 Christian Garnett Partners LLP have received a design award from London Borough of Camden for their work on the former Holborn Town Hall site, a 7,500sqm. mixed use commercial development comprising refurbishment of the former Holborn Town Hall on High Holborn and a new office building on Stukeley Street. The following quotes were recorded by panel members "An exceptionally difficult project brilliantly executed through a series of brave and unconventional decisions." "An ingenious scheme which has maintained the sometimes quirky spaces of the old Town Hall and turned them, not into bland homogeneity, but interesting one off spaces. The modern building at the rear has made a very positive use of its odd shaped site. The new access lane has been skilfully detailed and the internal spaces offer exciting views through the building, to the densely urban fabric which surrounds it." close window
